Accessibility Information - Planning Your Visit

Accessibility at Papersmiths

Our goal is to enable everyone to visit and enjoy our Papersmiths stores.

Chelsea
Our Chelsea store's entranceway was built in 2018 and is flat and wheelchair friendly. Some areas of the store are quite narrow and we have shelves that span floor to ceiling. Our team are on hand to help you find and access what you need.

King's Cross
Our King's Cross store is inside Wolf and Badger on Stable Street. The building was completed in 2018 and is also wheelchair accessible with lots of space for moving around. There is a lift for access to our book space on the upper floor.

Brighton
Our Brighton store is in a very old building and has a steep step up from the pavement and a drop from the door threshold down to the shop floor. We have a rubber threshold ramp on the inside and a portable aluminium ramp for outside. The portable ramp is set up, as needed, so that our customers who are wheelchair users can access the store. We wish this was something we could have set up permanently but, unfortunately, the ramp length required to create a usable gradient is such that it obstructs the pavement and road when it is in use. For that reason, we have to keep it indoors and bring it out as needed.

If you are planning a visit to the shop, please do get in touch in advance so that we can make sure we are ready to welcome you. You can just turn up but, sometimes, we won't be able to get the ramp set up straight away and will have to wait for a colleague to be available to help. We are truly sorry if we have to ask you to wait or come back later, but this is the best we can do at the moment.

We really want you to have the best stationery shopping experience possible and would hate to keep you waiting, so we recommend that you please call ahead (contact details below) and arrange a time to visit. If we are with a customer, we will not always be able to answer the phone straight away so please try again later or email us (details below) and we will call you back to make arrangements.

We also want to point out that our Brighton shop is rather dinky and if you won't be able to explore the whole shop, our friendly team is on hand to help you find what you're looking for and show you things that are not easily accessible.

Thank you so much for understanding and we'd also like to say a big thank you to those customers who have written in to give us ideas for how to make the store more accessible. We welcome all ideas and are grateful for your encouragement and support in making Papersmiths and the stationery accessible to all.

If you have any questions or requests about making your visit better, please get in touch with our store teams via telephone or email. You'll find the details below.
