Product description
Failed it! celebrates the power of mistakes and shows how they can enrich the creative process. This is part photobook and part guide to loosening up and making mistakes to take the fear out of failure and encourage experimentation.
It showcases the best and most hilarious examples of imperfection and failure across a broad range of creative forms, including art, design, photography, architecture and product design, to inspire and encourage creatives to embrace and celebrate their mistakes.
We live in an era when everyone is striving for perfection and we have become afraid of failure, which limits our potential. Mistakes help us find new ways of thinking and innovative solutions, and failures can change our perceptions and open up new ways of looking things. This book transforms mistakes from something to be embarrassed about into a cause for celebration.
It includes over 150 visual examples drawn from Kessels personal collection of artworks and found photographs, along with tips, quotes, anecdotes and wisdom for celebrating with failure. To quote Kessels:"the ubiquity of Apple + Z, means that we can literally undo any mistake before it has had time to breathe, be considered and perhaps evolve into something else: a fascinating, strange, provocative or even original piece of work. This book asks readers to embrace their fuck-ups, learn from them and celebrate their tawdry glory".

from 85 reviewsThe layout is perfect and the colour is great too
My favourite task planner! Would definitely recommend if you need a little assistance in getting organised.
Love this one it’s such a fine point that I use it for sketching!
Just so smooth ! Love it
Love this organiser I have the 2024 one and it’s so helpful to organise my day !!
Can’t wait to use it!
I look forward to my annual purchase of a new diary and this one did not disappoint! I love the cool front cover and really appreciate all the space and notes pages inside
It’s really handy for clipping to any book or journal, I don’t have to hunt around for a pen
Love the layout and cover.
Love the colour, the paper quality, but most of all the design! It’s almost exactly what I’ve created for myself in my journal which will save me so much time next year .. can’t wait to start using it!
my go to every year!
Have used these diaries for several years and love them. Prompt delivery and packaged nicely.
Unique products and amazing online service!
Following a delivery issue, the staff at Papersmiths were very helpful in resolving the issue and kept me updated throughout.
Love the product which is a gift for a friend and will definitely purchase from these guys again.
Honestly I have been looking for a hardbound fabric notebook that is lined with 6mm ruling for a long time so I was ecstatic when I found this. The pages lay flat and the notebook is really durable and a pleasure to use.
There is slight bleed through when using larger nib size fountain pens but using a fine nib there is no problem. I only wished the paper was like an off white/cream colour rather than the bright white paper colour but that's just my preference.
Cartridges for my much-loved Kaweco Sport fountain pen in black and orange (my favourite of the Kaweco ink colours) arrived very quickly, as always, thank you!
After a birthday trip to Brighton my wife and I stumbled upon paoersmiths. They are and continue to be her preferred stationery of choice. Great colours, finishes and writes. Whenever she starts a new project it'll be a new book and a new pen. Anything that pleases my wife this much deserves a review.
