Ahead of the release of our collaboration with Appointed, we're taking you on a tour of the design details of the Year Task Planner. Let's dive in.
The Year Task Planner is a dated diary that runs from January - December 2022. It was invented by Appointed, our friends in Washington DC, whose collection of subtle, smart paper goods are a staple on the Papersmiths shelves. For 2022, Appointed offered to create an exclusive and limited edition, just for us. We jumped at the chance.
One of the standout features is the durable book cloth cover. Made from 100% cotton, it's biodegradable, odour-free, and pH neutral. Plus, it's water resistant! The covers are made one-at-a-time in Appointed's Washington studio.
The inside papers are made with 2/3 renewable energy and are free from acid and chlorine.
The planner starts with a two-page overview of 2022 and 2023 while each month begins with a dedicated divider section for setting goals and noting important dates. It's a useful pause for reflection and intention setting for the month ahead.
Spiral wire-o binding results in a perfect 180 degree flat lay - and you can even turn it back on itself to 360 degrees. Winner.
A double page spread provides an overview of the month's schedule. Holidays and a mini calendar for the previous and following month are included here, too. This is the zone for your bigger picture planning.
The weekly spreads are where things get focused. Each week has a dedicated double-pager with one side for scheduling and the other for your master to-do list and notes. We find the 'Priorities' section at the top most beneficial; pick out four essential projects for that week.
Thoughtful design features please us, like the laminated tabs to help you flip back and forth efficiently.
What Appointed creation would be complete without the signature gold foil stamping? The planner is finished with burnt orange book cloth, accented with gold lettering which reads 'Year Task Planner 2022'.
